writing
I’ve been writing in several different areas….
I’m attempting some poetry in the style of John O’Donohue’s “Beannacht“….here is one of the better ones called Blessing of the Ages and another – Blessing of Change…and yet another.
Here’s a sampling of my writings for kids…..
Upsidedown Window
Backyard Friends – a story for younger children about exploring the backyard
Leaf Letters – letters from a backyard tree, for middle grade girls
A Winter Poetry Collection for kids
I Went Skiing Today – a poem about skiing for the first time
Snow Falls – a poem about playing in the snow
After Christmas Letdown – a poem about….well, just what it says.
Here’s a sampling of my writing in French….
Embellissez-le
Le flûtiste
And I do a little non-fiction writing and have one non-fiction book underway….
Dreaming Peace and Justice

If you don’t mind – I would love to use your children writings at my school – - we are a Communication Arts Magnet and I work with poetry readings, drama, etc outside of my regular music job – and I can say the “skiing” one I’d like to use the first week of January. Is this ok? Great job, David. I have written some poetry and have had an idea on a children’s book but just haven’t taken the time to delve in.
I would love for you to read my poems to school kids, allow them to give me feedback.
Thanks for “liking” a post on my blog. I love the way yours looks – and the breadth of topics you write about.
